Refund Policy
Last updated: March 29, 2026
1. No Refunds
All payments and contributions made through the Civix platform are final and non-refundable. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Campaign contributions made to public officials or candidates through the direct messaging system.
- Platform fees charged for sending direct messages to public servants.
- Any fees associated with premium features or services, if applicable.
- Any voluntary payments or tips made through the Platform.
2. Campaign Contributions
Campaign contributions facilitated through Civix are processed as political donations subject to FEC regulations. Once a contribution is submitted and processed:
- The contribution is final and cannot be reversed by Civix.
- The contribution is subject to applicable campaign finance laws and reporting requirements.
- Civix acts solely as a facilitator and does not hold or manage campaign funds.
- Any disputes regarding contributions should be directed to the recipient campaign committee.
- Contributors are responsible for ensuring their contributions comply with FEC contribution limits and regulations. Civix does not provide tax advice regarding the deductibility or reporting of political contributions.
3. Service Availability
Civix is provided as a free civic transparency platform. While we strive for continuous availability:
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Platform.
- Temporary service disruptions do not entitle users to any refund or compensation.
- Features may be added, modified, or removed at our discretion without prior notice.
4. Exceptions
In rare cases where a payment was processed due to a verified technical error on our part (e.g., duplicate charge caused by a system malfunction), we may, at our sole discretion, issue a correction. Such requests must be submitted within 7 days of the transaction through the Help & FAQ section.
5. Contact
For questions about payments or this Refund Policy, please contact us through the Help & FAQ section within the Platform.
